Hollow cone spray nozzles produce a fine, atomized liquid flow, displaying spray patterns characterized by a ring-shaped impact area where liquid is concentrated on the outer edge of the spray patternation. Two designs of hollow cone nozzles are available: axial and tangential.
Axial hollow cone nozzles produce a circular ring of liquid by using a swirl insert, once the liquid hits the insert it causes the liquid to swirl which then atomises creating a hollow cone, low impact spray.
Tangential hollow cone nozzles utilize a right angle supply of liquid. The end patternation produces a finely atomized, low impact spray. This is made possible by use of a swirl chamber, which produces the swirl and atomization needed to create the desired spray pattern.
