Rail Unloading

Unloading material from railway wagons into bunkers below causes fugitive dust to become airborne and fill the unloading station due to the speed of material flow and velocity of air movement from the unloading process, the sudden change in air pressure and velocity within the open area allows dust particles to flow freely.

Successful dust control can be achieved by using our dry fog dust suppression system, locating dry fog nozzles at each side of the track and spraying to the centre of the track, due to the track lengths, systems are programmed so that only the dry fog sprays at the relevant unloading points are operated and the system moves with the train until the unloading process is complete.

The dry fog nozzles have a self cleaning function and by mounting nozzles at convenient levels, maintenance is minimized and expensive scaffolding within the bunkers is not required.
