Shredding machines are commonly used within the recycling industry, waste is pre-sorted and suitable waste is then processed in the shredder, commonly shredders are located before trommels.

Shredding machines produce dust at two points, firstly the loading hopper and secondly the discharge point, dry fog dust suppression systems can be located at one or both points and suppress the airbourne dust without wetting the waste material.
