The action of feeding material through a rotating trommel causes considerable dust within the barrel of the unit and additional dust from the falling material below.
The use of a dry fog suppression system spraying into the trommel barrel at the feed end, provides protection from surrounding air movement and allows agglomeration to take effect as material tumbles through the process.
Additional nozzles can be sited at the trommel outlet and/or on the underside chamber to enhance suppression of the local dust clouds when excessively dry material is being processed.
