Water Treatment Systems

Water treatment for humidification systems

Discover Our Water Treatment Systems

For both hygiene and system efficiency, all our humidification systems are supplied with different levels of water treatment. Depending on what the requirement is, the mains water passes through in-line filters, ultra violet disinfection unit, water softener, reverse osmosis and disinfection units. This level of water treatment ensures that your humidification system always provides the maximum process reliability, efficiency and hygiene standards.

Filtration Unit

The water filter unit is a pre-piped unit containing an inline water filter, pressure gauge and water meter and prevents suspended particles/solids in the water from entering our humidification systems. It features course filtration that can be cleaned by backwashing and then fine filtration for complete reliability.

UV & Filter Plate

Our UV & Filter Plate is supplied fully assembled and pre-piped ready to be installed. This unit features two inline water filters, one 50 micron and one 5-micron filter and an ultraviolet disinfection unit complete with interface unit. The ultraviolet disinfection unit is designed to kill waterborne bacteria using the proven method of exposure to ultraviolet light.

Water Softener

A water softener can be added upstream of your initial, more standard water filtration to prevent scale build up on the high quality system parts and atomiser heads. An ion exchange process will be used to bring the water, already cleaned in filters to 0° German hardness. The hard water flows through the system and the dissolved calcium and magnesium ions removed and replaced with sodium ions. This softens the water.

Different treatments will be used depending on individual customer requirements.

Reverse Osmosis Unit

The reverse osmosis unit is used to de-minerlise water and is an essential part of the complete humidification system in all applications where the presence of minerals is not possible, such as printing or painting.

Filtered and softened water is pushed through a membrane, this results in pure water, with any residue washed down the drain. The advantage of reverse osmosis is that in the addition to removing dissolved materials, it also separates out bacteria, germs, particles, and dissolved organic substances.

Reverse osmosis units with different liter capacities are integrated into the overall project based the customers individual requirements. Reverse osmosis can also be used for process water, for example of printing machines.

Disinfection

To ensure the hygiene in your humidification system, we offer either a selective disinfection process or an online disinfection process is implemented.

Selective Disinfection

Treated softened or reverse osmosis water is passed under a UV lamp, exposing it to a UV light. This renders any existing bacteria, viruses etc, harmless.

Online Disinfection

Online disinfection is of the entire humidification system, where small quantities of solution such as chlorine dioxide is continually added ensuring the entire humidification system – from the feed water to the atomiser nozzles – is kept perfectly hygienic at all times. Online disinfection gives automatic peace of mind and maintains the highest possible hygiene standards.

Benefits:
  • Tailored water treatment
  • Hygienically safe
  • Easy Installation
  • Modular design
  • No chemicals used to maintain water quality (except for online disinfection
